On Friday, September 2, 2022, at 1 p.m., the Serbian Association for Cancer Research hosted a celebration in the pleasant surroundings of the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković.” During this event, the SDIR Executive Committee introduced a new initiative called “SDIR Scientific Days,” designed to engage cancer researchers from various scientific institutes and universities across Serbia. The inaugural meeting of “SDIR Scientific Days” is scheduled to take place at the State University in Novi Pazar on September 20, 2022, and will be conducted as a hybrid event.

During the event,it was revealed that the Annual SDIR Award would be established to recognize exemplary scientific work in oncology, alongside the sponsorship of a trip to the HDIR-6 Congress. As part of the initiative to enhance scientific collaboration with national scientific societies, several representatives addressed the attendees, including Dr. Ana Đorđević from the Serbian Society for Molecular Biology (IBISS), Prof. Dr. Milica Popović from the Biochemical Society of Serbia (Faculty of Chemistry, UB), Dr. Nada Santrač from the Cancer Section of the Serbian Medical Society (IORS), Dr. Sanja Goč from the Serbian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (INEP), and Prim. Dr. Davorin Radosavljević from the Association of Medical Oncologists of Serbia (IORS).

The gatheringwas graced by members of the scientific community as well as supportive entitiesthat consistently back the initiatives of SDIR:Alfa Genetics, Alfamed, AstraZeneca, DSP Chromatography, Elta 90MS, Labena, Merck, Roche, SuperlabandVivogen.
