Congresses, conferences, scientific workshops and training schools are important for the development of researchers at all career stages. Scientific gatherings allow participants to learn about the latest achievements in the field of oncology, to get acquainted with modern research methods and to get in touch with colleagues of similar interests, thereby opening the way for possible future cooperation. SDIR recognizes the extraordinary importance of scientific meetings, especially for young researchers, but also the difficulties that researchers may face in order to obtain funding for participation. For this purpose, we provide annual SDIR-supported fellowships to our members primarily for participation in congresses organized by the EACR or collaborative societies.
